Bulboacă & Associates starts 2012 with promotions within the team: Two new partners and three Senior Associates

The law firm of Bulboacă & Associates is delighted to announce two new partners: Ioana Radu Motofei and Costin Teodorovici. The decision brings the number of partners at the firm to eight.

At the same time, three lawyers were promoted to Senior Associate - Raluca Ciocârlan, Voichita Lefter, and Diana Mihaela Teodorescu.

Ioana Radu Motofei, partner, is 29 years old and focuses on litigation, corporate M&A and employment. She has been a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2005, and she has been with Bulboaca & Associates since 2007. Ioana is fluent in English and French.

Ioana has assisted clients in complex projects, including Schroder Investment Management Limited in a dispute against the Property Fund, Portuguese consortium Martifer (Prio Foods) in connection with the sale of large areas of land/construction, and Kraft Foods Romania in closing the plant in Brasov.

Costin Teodorovici, partner, 30 years old, specializes in banking, corporate M&A and competition. He has been a member of the Bucharest Bar Association since 2005, and he joined the firm in 2008. Costin speaks fluent English and French.

Costin has assisted clients in complex projects such as financing by a Greek bank of the acquisition of the company owning Doraly shopping center, the acquisition by Wipro Technologies of a division of the Alcatel Lucent (involving the transfer of over 400 employees), representing Allianz Tiriac - Allianz Insurance and Private Pensions in a Competition Council investigation of the private pensions administration market in Romania.

The lawyers promoted to Senior Associate will focus on the following practice areas: Raluca Ciocârlan - energy and corporate M&A, Mihaela Voichita Lefter - corporate M&A, private equity and competition law, Diana Teodorescu - litigation.

Bulboaca & Asociatii - awarded at the Avocati de Top Gala organised by Finmedia

Bulboaca & Asociatii SCA won awards of excellence at the Avocati de Top Gala organised by Finmedia on the 29th of June 2011, in the Litigation/Arbitration and Energy areas.

Last year, Bulboaca şi Asociatii offered advice in connection with an international arbitration with respect to the exploration and development contracts of the Industrial & Financial Group ASCOM S.A. in Kazakhstan, arbitration claim in amount of USD billion.

In the Energy area, Bulboaca şi Asociatii offered advice in connection with the financing of EUR 23 million, granted by BCR Erste to the local subsidiary of the Portuguese group Martifer for the development of a 42 MW wind farm in Babadag, Tulcea county (the first major project finance transaction in the renewable energy field in Romania).

Bulboaca & Asociatii - seminar regarding competition law related aspects

Bulboaca & Asociatii SCA organised on Friday, the 27th of May 2011, at the Intercontinental Hotel Bucharest, a seminar regarding theoretical and practical competition law related aspects. Among the participants there were a great number of representatives from multinational companies as well as from regional companies present in Romania.

This seminar was held by a team of lawyers from Bulboaca & Asociatii, formed by Valentin Berea, the partner who coordinates the competition practice within the firm, Costin Teodorovici, Senior Associate, Voichita Lefter, Associate and also benefited from the special contribution of Mr. Louis Van Lennep, EU competition law expert, with an extensive expertise in this practice area in this field (Mr. Louis Van Lennep coordinated the competition law practice within Central and Eastern Europe of a Magic Circle law firm for a long period of time).

Razvan Stoicescu is promoted to the position of partner of Bulboaca & Associates

Bulboaca & Associates announces the appointing in the position of partner of attorney Razvan Stoicescu. He will take over the new title as of April 15th 2010.

The decision increases the number of the partners to six - Adrian-Catalin Bulboaca (managing partner), Corina G. Ionescu, Valentin Berea, Cosmin Stavaru, Iulia Berea and Razvan Stoicescu.  

Razvan Stoicescu, partner, 29, is the managing attorney of the teams which assisted the Romanian state in the Eurobonds’ issuance of 2008 (EUR 750 million) and 2010 (EUR 1 billion).

Razvan has extensive experience in advising financers, borrowers, issuers other categories of clients, international or local, on various issues specific to capital markets and the financial - banking sector. Razvan frequently grants legal assistance with regard to the capital market, local and international financing, structured products, derivatives, acquisition of participations in credit institutions, banking - financial sector and capital markets regulatory aspects. At the same time, Razvan assists and represents clients in regulatory issues in transactions involving aircraft and aviation equipment, local and international sales of assets, mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications, personal data protection or consumer protection in the banking and telecommunications sector.

Razvan is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association since 2004, member of the National Union of Insolvency Practitioners in Romania since 2010 and is part of the founding team of Bulboaca & Associates, where he acted in turn, as Senior Associate and Managing Associate.

Bulboaca & Asociatii is fully operational starting on Monday 29 June 2009, after the fire at Millennium Business Center

After the fire on Friday night, 26 June 2009, at Millennium Business Center, we are active at our new temporary headquarters on 17 C.A. Rosetti street, 3rd and 4th floors. Starting Saturday, 27 June 2009, our law firm has rented a total area of 500 sqm surface with fully office equipment incorporated, which provides complete accommodation for our entire personnel.

Our contact details (email addresses, direct lines and mobile phones) remain unchanged.

We would also like to inform our clients and collaborators that the informational and material infrastructure has not been affected by the fire and the entire informational infrastructure of the firm has already been relocated at our new headquarters.

We would want to thank our clients who called us since the evening of Friday 26 June for their support, all our employees, our IT consultant company – Pro Connection S.R.L. - managed by Mr. Felix Miron, as well as BNP Paribas Real Estate company, which - through Mr. Viorel Lacatus - supported very much the relocation process of our firm starting 08.07 AM on Saturday 27 June 2009.

We are very glad to report that there were no victims following the tragedy and we would like to express our regret and support for the other firms with offices in the fire-affected building, assuring them of our support in these unpleasant moments.
